Ayten Animew

Executive Director

Dr. Ayten holds a PhD in Global and Area Studies with a special emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa from University of Leipzig of Germany and Institute for Peace and Security Studies of Addis Ababa University. Graduated with Master of Arts degree from United Nations mandated University for Peace/UPEACE/ in Peace and Conflict Studies; holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology and another Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education from Addis Ababa University. Worked as a Lecturer at different Universities in Ethiopia; also worked as Project Manager and Peace Project Officer at different institutions and organizations.

Taddese Gurmu

Board Member

Distinguished Lawyer; former Prosecutor and judge at the Ministry of Justice; former Legal advisor at Ethiopian Electric and Water Authority. He has served as the lead lawyer for some of the most important Ethiopian Supreme court cases. He has earned the Gold Peace Medals for Peace from the Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative in 2007 and the Gold Medal for Peace from the Society of Ethiopians in Diaspora (SEED) in 2008.

Mulugeta Ettefa

Board Member

Chairman, The Forum for the Study of Foreign Policy; Former Executive Director of  PDC; Former Ambassador of Ethiopia to France, Spain, Portugal, the Vatican and United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) ; former Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the United Nations; Visiting Scholar, African Studies Center, Michigan State University; Visiting Professor, University of Leipzig, Germany; Assistant Professor of English and Theory of Communication, Addis Ababa   University. Dr. Mulugeta is an author of different books.

Bekele Endashew

Former Executive Director at Ethiopian Institute of Peace /EIP/; former Senior Inter-Regional Advisor at directorate level (L-7) in The United Nations, New York; former Ambassador of Ethiopia to the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and concurrently representing Ethiopia in the European Economic Community (EEC) in Brussels; former Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ethiopia; former Executive Secretary of the former National Coffee Board of Ethiopia.

Mrs Lidet Teka

Board Vice Chair

Graduate of Political Science and International Relations with two postgraduate degrees in peace and security specializing in Africa bringing forth over 15 years of valuable work experience ranging from Researcher to policy advocacy in different United Nations offices liaising with African Union. Specialty includes policy advocacy, undertaking analytical research on humanitarian, peace and security matters. Facilitated and support implementation of Women Peace and Security Agenda in Ethiopia

Mr Mulushewa Jimma

Board Member

Mr. Mulushewa Jimma is a renown humanitarian, spending most of his life in human rights advocacy and community development. He has served as loyal civil servant and professional as chief auditor. He has suffered several years in prison during the Derg Era because he advocated for justice, peace and freedom.
