The dialogues aimed at addressing intercommunal conflicts through active community participation. In July 2021, a series of Intra and inter-community dialogues were conducted with key community participants in each 22 target Kebeles. The main criteria for selecting participants for the inter-community dialogue were based on their motivation and commitment as well as their interest in managing conflict in a peaceful manner and building a culture of peace in the community. Identity, social and cultural belonging, gender, and age were considered when selecting the participants and forming the groups. A total of 30 dialogue participants (19 male and 11 female) were recruited from communities in the three Woredas and 6 security officials including the head of woreda security were escorting the participant from their localities.
In July 2021, a series of intra and inter-community dialogues were conducted with key community participants in each 22 target Kebeles. Target participants selected from each target kebeles escorted by woreda peace and security officials have attended the discussion. The participants were selected based on how much influence they are within the community in the process of building peace. This meeting was intended to bring all the community participants from each kebeles to a commonplace including the most vulnerable conflicting kebeles in Bodi and Konso. Also prior to this inter-community meeting, intra-community dialogues have been held in all the target kebeles. A total of 30 dialogue participants (22 male and 8 female) were recruited from target Kebeles in the Woreda including 4 officials from the Woreda security office to escort the participants.
